I am suprised by the negative reviews of this product. I first used this epliator with a feeling of nervousness. I sprayed the pre epilation spray on my leg and within seconds I began to feel a tingly numb sensation this meant that all though I could feel a slight nipping at my leg I did not feel the pain that I was expecting.

The inbuilt light was extremely useful for identifying fine hairs and the fact that this epilator is rechargeable is really handy when you are on the go.

I did not find the recharge time an issue as I usually only need to use this once a week, I put it on to charge as soon as I have used it and then it is ready for the next use.

I definately recommend this to anyone who is thinking of purchasing an eplilator for the first time. It is definately better than epilators that I have tried in the past.

I have never tried epilating before but have always wanted to as you get longer results than shaving. However the horror stories about how much it hurts had always put me off.

When I saw that Veet now had epilators I thought it was time to give it a go. I have used Veet for years as its a great brand and fantastic products so thought their epilators would be the same standard.

I have to say I was really impressed by the Veet epilator. The unit was a small compact size which was great for small hands. It has 42 tweezers which seems to be more than other brands, and separate zone cap for sensitive areas (to be honest not been brave enough to try this yet!).

It also has a charging stand which doesn’t seem to come with other brands. Whilst you do have to charge it for quite a while, I didn’t find this a problem as I won’t have to epilate again until a few weeks time.

It comes with a comfort spray which you spray on your legs before epilating. It was really easy to use and you just wait a couple of minutes before starting to epilate. I was a little dubious if this would work but it actually cools your skin which stops it hurting when you then run the epilator over your legs.

I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is considering giving epilating a go.

I’ve used several epilators, ranging in quality. My current Philips one being the best and that’s why I chose this. This compares well and is at least as good as anything else I have used.

If you’ve never used one before, then they will take some getting used to. It’s similar to waxing. Though I find epilation to be less of a hassle. The best way is to shave first and then let it grow a little 2-3 days before trying epilation. That way it doesn’t feel as uncomfortable. That’s how I started off. It’s true, they do prickle, but it’s not too nasty. This comes with a separate head supposed to be to help you get used to epilatiors. I didn’t like it as it just took longer, might be good way to start though if you find it too uncomfortable.

The unit itself is nice and is powerful. The wide head makes it slightly quicker to use than my current epilator though this isn’t a major difference. You still have to go up and down several times to get it smooth. Its got two speed settings which is good, as you can slow it down for sensitive areas. Neither of the other heads did much for me. The other stuff felt a bit gimicky, such as tweezers that light up (I do have lightbulbs in my house). The bag is just a cheap bag and not luxurious as described.

The instructions aren’t great, but you can figure it all out yourself. Other than that, this is a perfectly good epilator and priced about the same as I paid for my other Philips 2 years ago which is still going strong. It won’t perform miracles but it will do a good job.

I have never ever used an epilator. Ive heard far too many horror stories so i just kept away from them. When i got this epilator i was very scared of using it!!!! I read the instructions and i charged it up. Then i sat for 5 minutes wondering if i should even atempt sing it. What a fool i was. Its so easy to use and so painless. I was worried it would hurt, but it didnt. Its so smooth to use. The attatchments make doing the under arm and bikini line a breeze.

Please buy this wonderful epilator. Its the best thing, and id never be without it.

I have always fancied trying an epilator, my traditional hair removal method in the past being a quick once over with a disposable razor. The Philips HP6570 SatinPerfect comes with two head attachments, a cleaning brush, an adapator and a storage pouch. The unit was quick and easy to use, you select your attachment, plug in the adaptor and off you go. The active hair-lifting attachment lifts the hairs as you go.

There was some discomfort, which I expected: a short, sharp pinching. It was definitely more uncomfortable on the longer hairs, so it’s probably better to do as the manual suggests: shave first and epilate the shorter regrowth.

The light was a useful touch, ensuring that you could see every single hair. After use, my skin did come out in small blotches, but these improved after applying some body lotion, and disappeared completely after a few hours. After using it, you just rinse the attachment and put it away. One week later, my legs are still feeling smooth. With regular use, the hairs should grow back smoother and finer, much better than the old razor stubble!

Overall, I like it but, upon reflection, I think I might have preferred the Philips HP6572 Satin Perfect Trim Shape And Style Epilator with Luxury Bag and Three Attachment Heads with the shave, trim and style attachments and trimming comb, so that I could have also used the unit on the underarms and bikini line. For the few pounds extra, this would have provided a bit more versatility.

The pros of this epilator:

More environmentally friendly (less waste);

Cheaper in the long run;

Comes in a cute handy bag, complete with a little brush for cleaning the epilating head;

Comes with several epilating heads;

Has a very handy light to let you find hairs, and also useful when looking for ingrown hairs;

It’ll make your hair finer over time, so hair removal can become less frequent (or so I’ve read from a lot of other reviews; I’ve been using this epilator for about six weeks now, and I assume it’ll be a few months before any such affects become apparent)

The cons of this epilator:

It is expensive, especially considering that it’s not even cordless – it has to be attached to the mains to be used, and this can be annoying when moving it around your legs;

It is painful (although you do get more used to it as time goes on, and I would say it is less painful than waxing);

It won’t give you the smoothness that shaving does – it can’t pick up the smaller hairs. Although, considering that in the long run if you epilate you won’t have to remove your hair so frequently, while with shaving you really need to shave every other day or so to avoid that horrible stubbly feel, lacking that completely smooth feeling may be a necessary sacrifice.

For beginners (like me) I would recommend a cheaper epilator to start with (and one that is cordless). This epilator is probably a good one to have once it’s become more of a habit.

If you want hassle, then buy this shaver! I bought mine in July 2008 used the shaver but was unable to use the trimmer as the blades appeared jammed. I ‘phoned Braun’s Infoline and was told to send it to their service centre with the Amazon invoice and letter explaining the problem. The centre promptly sent a new replacement. This time the new shaver trimmer worked but the shaving head did not! I removed the head to inspect it and there appeared to be no fitment to hold the blades in place as they just fell out. Once again I returned the 2nd shaver to the service centre and because I complained about the postage costs, I was given their Freepost address ‘in case I had any further problems’ and once again promptly received a replacement. Little did I think I would need that Freepost address, and so soon. But this time, like the original shaver, the shaving head worked but the trimmer blades were jammed! After ‘phone calls with the service centre I understand I have the option of receiving yet another replacement, or returning it for refund to Amazon (I can’t because it’s outside their 30 day limit and I don’t have the original packing), or contact Braun again, but who apparently only refund with vouchers. So, I am stuck with receiving yet another replacement, but this time I have asked the service centre to open the pack and test the blessed thing before they send it to me, which they have agreed to do. You might ask why I even give a one star for this product. It is purely because it looks and feels like it could be a good little shaver if it ever worked correctly…oh, and the service centre was prompt with sending replacements. It’s October now – we’ll see how the 4th shaver works when it arrives – at least I have the Freepost address at hand……

When I first got this shaver I thought it was brilliant but I only had it less than 6 months and the long hair cutter failed. The foils are working fine but not much use if you have more than a couple of days hair growth. Its a real shame based on the initial usage but thats is not value for money and I will never buy Braun again.

I bought this as an intro to epilation after waxing for years. The first time I used it I found it agonising but the ice pack really helped.

After a while I could do legs, underarm and bikini without the ice pack. The results are good and I would recommend it. However, I think it’s been overtaken by other products within the same price range with greater features including shaver heads etc.

I had read other people’s reviews and decided this sounded like best one on the market. Amazon was the best price. Ice pack brilliant. Easy to use. Less painful than i imagined.Instrucions helpful such as using glove on legs before you epilate. Would certainly recommend to others.Lovely smooth legs.

all in all this product gives gr8 results @ a gr8 price, its really easy to use with its simple instructions it really is fool proof.i wudnt use any other product,ther is however 1 down fall, i found that i didnt have enuf time 2 use all the wax before it starts to set again so, i had to make a few trips to the microwave which is why i have rated this 4 stars.

With all the hair removal products out there that don’t really work. I was a bit weary of purchasing yet another one, but the price tempted me. I found this product really good!

I got the same finish as if I went to the Waxing Shop.

Definetely will buy this again!
